This review is from: Yakima Highlite Bike Rack - 2 Bike (Sports)
Works great on our Prius, has now been with us for several road trips, and best yet - the bottle openers on the arms have actually come in handy. . . when drinking a fine root beer after a good slog with the mountain bikes! It has both the 1.25 and 2.0 inch hitch size attachments, so we can swap it over to our other car, which is useful for our family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Supports were reversed, December 3, 2011

I purchased a Yakima HighLite 2 at a large outdoor gear co-op, and as I was assembling it I ran into a problem: the plastic pieces on the support arms -- the cradle to support the bike at its front end, and the stabilizer to support it near the seat -- were reversed on the support arms. The instructions made it clear that the bicycle nearest the vehicle was supposed to be mounted with the chain away from the vehicle. Because of the configuration of those parts, this was impossible: the first bicycle mounted had to face to the left instead of to the right, so the chain would be on the side nearest the vehicle.

I did a Google search for "Yakima HighLite backwards" (no quotes) and found a customer review here at amazon.com for the HighLite 3 that rang a bell: "Supports were backwards". This was posted by a user who recognized the problem, but didn't see the relatively easy solution: take off the supports and swap the supports so they are placed as shown in the assembly... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars So Light and Stong, October 10, 2011

I purchased my Yakima Highlite for $251 from HumblePower with free shipping

The Highlite comes in at under 20 pounds! Its lightweight allows me to hook it up to my vehicle with ease. When my bikes are set on the rack you can be sure they will stay put thanks to the anti-sway cables and an anti-wobble tongue that keeps everything steady while I'm on the move. Luv it.
